The Canadian Crisis, Suicide, and Community Safety Association (CCSCSA)

Our Mission

The Canadian Crisis, Suicide, and Community Safety Association (CCSCSA) is committed to advancing compassionate, community-driven alternatives to law enforcement in crisis, suicide, and community safety and wellbeing.

We achieve this by supporting community-crafted strategies for prevention, risk intervention, emergency response, and recovery, while promoting social development opportunities.

We support this by certifying professionals and accredit organizations and post-secondary programs that lead in innovative, out-of-the-box care models grounded in the highest standards of care.

We accomplish this by advocating for responsive, flexible approaches that foster creative collaboration among professionals and communities, that are committed to building trust, transparency, and accountability in services and systems that prioritize a “do no harm” approach.

Our Values

CCSCA is grounded in a social service approach, underpinned by public health principles, and respective theories of change, we centre the needs of houseless individuals, those experiencing mental health challenges, addictions, and substance use, as well as Indigenous, racialized, Black, youth, and 2SLGBTQIA+ Peoples and communities.

At CCSCSA, we amplify the authentic voices of diverse, intersectional identities, building human rights-based, inclusive, and equitable spaces where everyone belongs.
